Genetic genealogy is the use of DNA testing in combination with traditional family history records, to trace ancestors and living relatives within the last four generations. When used with conventional genealogical methods, autosomal DNA testing can identify relatives that you would not normally be able to find. For example:
To date I have help several people find their missing relatives.
However, others DNA tests, such as YDNA testing can be used determine a common paternal ancestor that goes back hundreds of years. Therefore, YDNA testing is very useful for international one name studies, in particular those looking to identify their common forefather.
At the moment I am currently the overseeing the genealogy research and YDNA testing programme for The Royce Association in America.
